Session 2 - 04/11/18

So over the next 2 days, Roland and Stobald have spoken to Matthew Driver (their contact in the Knights of the Name) who had said he would try to find a contact to help them get to the Silver Sun.
Astraios has been playing with the Infinite and gained a replacement Incantation and Hawke has been puttering round in her lab, not doing much but making enough little discoveries to warrant gaining a point of Hidden knowledge.

they meet up in Penn and Tellers after Roland has had a Noosphere message telling them that a person called Harlequin will be able to arrange them a passage to Silver, and that he Frequents Prosodies (food establishments where the food is poetry so moving it nourishes the body as well as the soul)
there just so happen to be a bunch of Fliers for Kaillie's Prosody, in Strangeglass, in the pub. so they decide a night on the town is in order.
Roland tidies up his one outfit (duster jacket, faded jeans, aged cowboy outfit), Stobald does his best at smart casual (ironed jeans and tucked in ironed t shirt and shirt over the top) and Hawke gets her fabulous goth lace outfit on.
Astraios settles on a Tuxedo... Onesie. which he insists is fashionable.

(Sooth deck draw - the Suspicious Hound)
on the short walk to Kaillie's from the train station they notice a figure, dressed in leathers and a hoodie, following them rather ineptly but do nothing about it.

entering the Prosody after a short queue the door lady comments on how fashionable Astraios is looking, they order drinks (sippin whisky for Roland, Vodka martini for Hawke, el generico beer for Stobald and a Babycham for Astraios) and they are directed to the same booth that Hawke had been to before.

headed to the third floor booth they go past areas serving Beatbox-backed urban street food, traditional Victorian cream tea and romantic lines, to a booth next to a vacant stage.
there, a tall, disheveled Scotsman begins his serving.
So here I am once more in the playground of the broken hearts
One more experience, one more entry in a diary, self-penned
Yet another emotional suicide overdosed on sentiment and pride
Too late to say I love you, too late to re-stage the play
Abandoning the relics in my playground of yesterday
I'm losing on the swings, I'm losing on the roundabouts
I'm losing on the swings, I'm losing on the roundabouts
Too much, too soon, too far to go, too late to play, the game is over
The game is over

Roland twigs then that they'd ordered the Fish (groan) and makes a couple of requests from the a la carte menu (effectively the track listings of the first 4 albums) and when he's finished the Vislae have had a somewhat satisfying meal of bitterness, regret, the tears of your first love leaving you and the realization that this explains everything about Scotland.
and then the Poet comes and sits with them.
"I heard you were looking for me?" he asks, casting a minor spell transforming the disheveled poet into the glorious Harlequin.
they back and forth for a time till he agrees to help them get a ride to the Silver in exchange for a favour (a totally valid currency in Satyrine) and that he would get someone called Caliburn to meet them at Penn and Teller's pub.
Also he asks them to deliver a package of Blue to the Conclave of Makers in the Silver sun
Stobald doesn't trust this as he's seen part of the message imprinted on the crystal that Hawke received along with her Dragonfly medal but they agree to drop off the box, that Harlequin presents by peeling off a blue diamond patch from his motley outfit, that becomes the box.

The group then decide to carry on the night out and head to Zero's which at the moment is only a couple of blocks walk from Kaillie's.

Heading into the bar they're assailed by the sights of the foremost drinking establishment for Vislae, order drinks (the same order as before) and head to a booth. Hawke takes to the dance floor as her favourite song  - Africa by Toto - is playing and then realizes her mistake is its playing on repeat.
Their drinks are sent across on tiny hot air balloons and they spend a short while taking in the ambiance. Roland is keeping an eye out for their mystery follower but there's no sign.
(Sooth Deck Draw - the Forgotten Prisoner)
from the booth next to them storms out a figure, features obscured by mist, in a flowing red coat, followed by a mostly drunk girl in ballerina heels and an outfit that's going to get her a case of pneumonia in Satyrine's cold autumnal evening, then another drunk guy following the girl, then a fourth guy who stops, pats himself down , realises hes left something at their table and turns back - spotting Stobald - mouthing "You!" and diving on him punching him clean across the face.
he gets Roland's gun drawn on him (an ornately rose-decorated seven shooter) that pulls him back to calmness as only a muzzle can do.
He explains that he was left behind by Stobald - who cant quite recall where he recognises the man from - and then details of how in The War Stobald was his cell leader / Corporal and they were all sent into Shadow as a sleeper cell, given an item that when activated from Indigo would pull the whole platoon back out at the same time.
Except for whatever reason, Stobald got stuck / his item didn't work and he stayed in Shadow. and the rest of the platoon got killed.
Stobald then goes on to (with the aid of a wonderful Interaction roll) explain how something similar happened when he was in Shadow and that was what he was working on, redemption. the Guy (Hudson) accepts this, leaves his card with them, and leaves.
They then enjoy the rest of the evening there.

On the way out they spot their tail, from earlier, Roland approaches the figure who starts walking away. Astraios Weaves a teleportation spell to intercept them, and is surprised when its a girl with obsidian beads for hair and porcelain white skin.
She flusters out when questioned that she has been following them because her Bike had been damaged, and the imprint left in the bike tank matched the size and shape of Astraios' rather unique prosthetic legs.
this damage happened three days prior so wasn't likely to have been Astraios who did it, she reticently gives her name as Eloise and convinces the group to let her be on her way.

They all then head to their respective homes.
